INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FL — Turning World today released the second book of the "Yellow Butterfly" Haiti books project. Yellow Butterfly is planned as a series of four similarly titled volumes with varied publication dates (six dates, at least). Today's Book Two release is as a limited edition. RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC — Turning World's long-term project for new photojournalism exhibits on Haiti began today on the anniversary of the creation in 2004 of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti, or MINUSTAH, which is still there with armed force. The patron-funded "Framing Haiti" project aims to build and distribute three traveling exhibits focused on the country's enduring social and political struggles. RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC — "Embracing Haiti" photojournalist Brad Workman is to revisit Haiti for work on the project starting in mid-September. It will be his second trip since the project launched on July 28. Turning World wants the public's input on ways to increase patron funding. RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC — Turning World's long-term project for new photojournalism on Haiti began today on the anniversary of U.S. Marines landing there in 1915, which began an occupation that ran until 1934. The patron-funded "Embracing Haiti" project aims to help document and publicize Haiti's enduring social and political struggles. The fundraising deadline is July 27, 2014.
